The FLIGHTPARTNER™ App is designed for UA’s Connectivity Ecosystem supporting weather-driven smart flight planning, two-way flight plan exchange with weather data in all phases of flight. Enabled by UA’s SSDTU+ connectivity gateway, FLIGHTPARTNER operates in tandem with Universal Avionics’ SBAS/WAAS FMS, enhancing pilot workflow, mission preparedness on the ground and in-flight.
• Connected FMS support with two-way flight plan exchange
• Support for 3rd party flight plan data transfer to FMS
• Weather-based Smart Flight Planning
• Flight following, own ship representation during all phases of flight
• Charting support with VFR sectional maps, IFR low/ high charts, and geo-referenced approach plates, airport information
• Document management, and flight logging support
• Seamless, automated delivery of navigation databases updates to FMS
SMART FLIGHT PLANNING EDITOR
The Smart Flight Planning (SFP) tool enables an intuitive flight plan preparation process based on current airport weather, winds and temps aloft. It provides support for selection of departure, arrival and approach procedures in sync with the FMS.
SFP integrates terrain, icing in route, METAR and other airport specific conditions such as visibility and crosswind reports for the intended takeoff and landing runway. File, amend and close VFR flight plans globally and IFR flight plans in the US.
INTERACTIVE MAPS, WEATHER INFORMATION LAYERING
FLIGHTPARTNER supports a comprehensive moving map capabilities integrating FMS flight context and aircraft position. Choice of VFR sectional maps, IFR low/high charts, or vector maps can be combined with advisory, navigation and weather-related layers of information that can be organized uniquely to individual flight and operator preferences. Vector maps and SFP are supported by the same nav database as used for the UA WAAS FMS.
Weather information can be layered on the maps in various configurations depending on the aircraft mission including worldwide METARs, AIRMETs and SIGMETs, TFRs, and PIREPS. Additional weather data supported by the app include base radar, composite radar (worldwide), and future radar simulations three days out. Visible color-coded infrared, enhanced infrared, and water vapor satellite imagery. TAF Discussions, GFS and NAM MOS forecasts by airport are also available over continental US.
WEATHER VERTICAL PROFILE
A key feature of FLIGHTPARTNER is its weather modeling products including Radar Forecast and Vertical Weather Profile. The Vertical Weather Profile previews your route in the vertical slice from departure to destination, so you can see the conditions you’ll encounter based on your departure time, aircraft speed, and each intermediate nearby airport.
AIRPORT DATA, APPROACH PLATES
FLIGHTPARTNER is designed to provide airport specific data including weather, frequencies, runways, procedures, and services including via shortcut in the flight planning process. Geo-referenced approach plates are available which can be overlayed on the map. SIDs, STARs, and geo-referenced approaches and taxi charts help you find your way in the air and on the ground.
PILOT DIGITAL ASSISTANT
The FLIGHTPARTNER App offers a convenient way to navigate between the various tools and utilities supporting the pilot workflow on his journey.
This includes notepad, and customizable checklists tools as well as a convenient way to access FLIGHTREVIEW app at the end of flight.
DATA AND WEATHER UPDATES
FLIGHTPARTNER will automatically seek updates to charts and maps as well as updated weather data based on its App settings when connectivity is available.
Always working in tandem with FLIGHTREVIEW™, the App ensures seamless and secure navigation databases updates to the tablet and on-board FMS by automatically connecting to Universal Avionics UniNet™ Data Center.
